about

Will Lang is producer and guitarist based in Memphis. He recently released his debut EP space/time on Pink Heron Records. The genre-defying album draws inspiration from a wide variety of composers and producers, blending electronic music with ambient, lo-fi, and down-tempo elements.

You can hear these influences right away with the synth-centric “first contact.” The second track, “summer skies,” keeps the vibes coming, hearkening back to 70s pop and R&B with slinky guitars and Rhodes piano. “event horizon” takes a more acoustic turn, layering acoustic guitars and a charming upright piano to tell this tale of cosmic rumination—you may even hear echoes of Laurel Canyon in the distance. The fourth track is the sparkling single, “moon goddess,” featuring Lang's clean, patient guitar work. The album concludes with jazz fusion-inflected “blue ridge.”

Lang was interviewed about the record by David Hopper and 360°Sound, which also hosted the exclusive digital premier.

CDs are available for purchase locally at Shangri-La Records and River City Records. CDs and downloads are also available at wlang.bandcamp.com, and the album is available for streaming via all major outlets.
